Crikey old mate!

Hello crafty friends.

I have a fun koala card on the papermilldirect blog today. I wanted to make a dark background with some leaves and coloured them in.

I love making people laugh and this sweet Koala card is sure to bring a smile to someone’s face.

To make the card base I trimmed down a piece of Black Plain Card 240gsm to 4 1/4 inches and then scored the card at 5 7/8 inches.

Next I trimmed the card front piece using White Card Super Smooth 250gsm. I trimmed this a little bit smaller than the card base. I then used the large leaf die and stamped a background of leaves. Using some green copic markers I coloured all the leaves in. I then used a dark grey and black marker to colour the whole background in. This does take time but I think its really worth it as I had lots of fun colouring the background. I then used some Stick it! 3D Foam Tape 9mm and adhered this to my card base.

Next I stamped the koalas onto a piece of White Card Super Smooth 250gsm and coloured them in. I then trimmed them out and started die cutting some leaves. I used a piece of Xmas Green Double Sided Pearlised Card 300gsm for this. I then adhered the leaves and koalas down with some Stick it! 3D Foam Tape 9mm and Anita’s PVA Tacky Glue 60ml.

Next I heat embossed the sentiments using white embossing powder onto some more Black Plain Card 240gsm. I trimmed these down and adhered onto the card with some Stick it! 3D Foam Tape 9mm.

To finish the card off I added some gems.

I hope this inspires you to make your own background.

Thinking of you

Hello friends!

I have a thinking of you card up on the papermilldirect blog today.

I love using my copic markers but unless its a copic friendly card it will run and bleed and completely ruin your colouring. I thought I would try colouring on the Sirio Colour Card and I couldn’t believe that it didn’t run the colour from the markers! I’m so impressed!

To make this card you will need:

You will also need:

  • Floral Stamps (Uniquely Creative)
  • Sentiment (Uniquely Creative)
  • Copic Markers
  • Gems
  • White Embossing Powder
  • Heat Gun
  • Versamark Ink

Pmthinking

To start with I made my card base using Perla Sirio Colour Card 290gsm which I trimmed at 4 1/4″ and scored at 5 7/8″. I then trimmed down a piece of Nude Sirio Colour Card 290gsm a little bit smaller than the card front.

Next I stamped some floral branches onto the Nude Sirio Colour Card 290gsm to make a background. Once this was completed I coloured in the branches with my copic markers. I honestly thought the colour would bleed a little bit and I was so happy when it didn’t. I will definitely be doing this technique again.

Once all the branches were coloured in I adhered this onto my card base using Stick it! 3D Foam Tape 9mm.

I then heat embossed the sentiment onto a piece of Navy Plain Card 240gsm and trimmed this down. I adhered to my card using some Stick it! 3D Foam Tape 9mm.

To finish the card off I adhered some gems onto the card using some Anita’s PVA Tacky Glue 60ml.

I hope you give this a try and don’t be scared to experiment with different cards and your markers.

Thanks for stopping by today.

A sweet swan card

Hello friends!

I have a copic coloured background card for you today.

I don’t usually colour a whole background in markers but I actually really found this fun! If you haven’t tried doing this then I urge you to give it a go. In fact I went on to make more cards like this.

Here’s how I created mine:

I firstly stamped the images onto a piece of card. I’ve used Uniquely creative hey mama stamps for the swans.

I then coloured the swan images in with my copic markers.

I then used a darker shade of copic markers to colour the whole background in. I saved this part for last incase I messed up the colour of the swans as I didn’t want to waste any ink.

I then stamped and heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder.

Now I’m not going to lie this took a little while to colour but I found it really relaxing and it’s nice to experiment too!

I will be sharing my other cards I made soon.

Thanks for stopping by!

A card for a bookworm

Hello crafty friends!

I have a sweet card on the Papermilldirect blog today and it’s great for the bookworms!

Good Morning Vic here today. I love how easy it is to ink blend on cards using White Card Super Smooth 250gsm. If you haven’t tried using this card its one of my favorites and I use it on pretty much all my cards.

What you will need:

You will also need:

To make the card base I trimmed down a piece of White Card Super Smooth 250gsm and I trimmed this to 4 1/4″ and scored at 5 7/8″.

I then used another piece of White Card Super Smooth 250gsm which is for the card front. I started by gently applying the inks with a sponge applicator and adding more colour as I went along. Once the colours start building up I gently blended them together. Once this was completed I used some Stick it! Double Sided Tape 6mm and adhered this to the card base.

I then stamped my images onto some more White Card Super Smooth 250gsm and coloured them in. Once this was done I cut them out and adhered them onto the card base using some Stick it! 3D Foam Tape 9mm.

To finish off the card I used a piece of Black Plain Card 240gsm and stamped the greeting with versamark ink. I then sprinkled on some white embossing powder and heat set this with my gun. I then trimmed this out and adhered this onto the card with some Stick it! 3D Foam Tape 9mm.

I think this will be great to send to someone who loves reading. Its such a fun card and adding ink to your cards can really brighten them up.

A Dragon Hooray Card

Hi there!

I have a cute card up on the Papermilldirect blog today with a sweet dragon image.

Here’s the tutorial:

Good Morning Vic here today. I love to do my own thing when making cards and I don’t really stick to ‘rules’ or ‘guidelines’ so I thought it would be fun to show you that you can use bright images on soft card colours.

Drg1

Products I used:

You will also need:

  • Critter Stamp (My Favorite Things)
  • Hooray Die (My Favorite Things)
  • Copic Markers
  • Nuvo Drops
  • Scoring Tool

For the card base I used a piece of Nude Sirio Colour Card 290gsm which I trimmed to 4 1/4″ and scored at 5 7/8″. I then trimmed down a smaller piece of White Card Super Smooth 250gsm. I wanted to have some embossed lines so using a scoring tool I made my own. Once this is completed I adhered this onto the card base with some Stick it! 3D Foam Tape 9mm.

Next I stamped my image onto some more White Card Super Smooth 250gsm and coloured him in with copic markers. I trimmed the image out and adhered onto the centre of the card using some Stick it! 3D Foam Tape 9mm.

I then used some more Nude Sirio Colour Card 290gsm to die cut out the word hooray. I did this three times and adhered the words together using Anita’s PVA Tacky Glue 60ml and gently adhered this to the card.

To finish the card off I added some nuvo drops but feel free to add anything you like.

I hope this card will inspire you to break the rules and just have fun when creating!
